With a reduced length and weight, the system is easier to deploy and operate than traditional configurations, helping crews work more efficiently without sacrificing performance.

At its core is Sigdrill’s advanced SIG-302 solution, providing accurate directional measurements while addressing the reliability and accuracy challenges often associated with longer legacy systems. The Short MWD system also enhances data transmission through high-speed mud pulse telemetry, reducing reliance on costly EM or dual-telemetry systems that can be limited by depth and operating conditions.

Reliability is further improved through a streamlined, integrated design. The SIG-302, SIG-405 Pulser, and gamma sensor are housed within a single standard directional module pressure housing, eliminating many of the common failure points found in traditional systems. With up to 95% fewer field-mated connectors and significantly reduced wiring, the system minimizes maintenance requirements and supports more consistent performance in demanding environments.
